A day in Tokyo can be very exciting. I suggest visiting three of the most interesting places in Tokyo.
First by train you can start off at visiting Imperial Palace, head to Ueno Park and then move to Asakusa District where you can see Kaminarimon gate, and Sensoji Temple(most favorable).
Of course you can go by taxi, but train is cheaper and there are no traffic jams.
Needless to say there are many other options according to your interests or purposes.
The following are some other places to visit in Tokyo for your reference.
1.Ginza, one of the prestigious shopping areas in Tokyo,
2.Meiji Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his consort guarded by a forest,
3.Odaiba. where you can see the magnificent Rainbow Bridge,
4.Yasukuni Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to those who laid down their lives for their country,
5.The Edo-Tokyo Museum, a museum where you can learn the history and culture of Edo-Tokyo,
6.Akihabara, one of the biggest wholesale and retail town for electronic and electrical appliances.
The mentioned places above are very popular areas to visit as well.
Of course there are lots more places for you to go other than these places.
You could choose places where you would like to go.
